What is Trezor Suite?
Trezor Suite is the official app (desktop and web) for interacting with Trezor hardware wallets. It provides a single interface for account management, transaction signing, firmware updates, data export, and more — keeping private keys isolated on your Trezor device so signing always requires physical confirmation.
Quick note: Trezor Suite itself does not hold your private keys — the keys remain on your Trezor hardware device. Treat your 12/24-word recovery seed as the ultimate backup and keep it offline and secure.
Before you start
- A supported Trezor device (Model One, Model T, or compatible).
- Latest Trezor Suite app for your OS (Windows, macOS, Linux) or use the official web version.
- Your recovery seed written on the recovery card provided with your device (never stored digitally).
- A secure computer and USB cable — avoid public or untrusted networks for initial setup.
Download & initial setup
- Download Trezor Suite from the official source and verify the site address before running the installer.
- Open Trezor Suite and connect your Trezor device with the USB cable; follow on-screen prompts to create a new device or restore an existing wallet using your recovery seed.
- Set a device PIN when prompted — the PIN prevents unauthorized use if your device is lost or stolen.
- If available, complete any firmware updates via Trezor Suite to ensure your device has the latest security fixes.
Warning: Trezor Suite will never ask you to type your recovery seed into the app. If any site or app requests your recovery seed, stop immediately — it's a phishing attempt.
Adding accounts & supported assets
In Trezor Suite you can add accounts for Bitcoin, Ethereum, ERC-20 tokens, and many other supported cryptocurrencies. Each account maps to addresses derived from your Trezor's seed and can be labeled for easier organization.
How to add accounts
- Open Trezor Suite and choose the cryptocurrency you want to add.
- Follow the prompts to add the account; Suite will pull transaction history and balances from the network.
- Rename accounts and add notes to help distinguish between personal and business wallets.
Send & receive crypto securely
Trezor Suite prepares transactions locally, then requires you to confirm amounts and recipient addresses on the Trezor device screen — this on-device verification prevents many remote attack vectors.
Receiving funds
- Choose an account in Trezor Suite and click
Receive. - Verify the address displayed in Suite against the address shown on your Trezor device before sharing it.
Sending funds
- Create a new transaction in Trezor Suite by entering the recipient and amount.
- Review network fees and transaction details in Suite, then confirm the transaction on your Trezor device.
Advanced features & integrations
Trezor Suite supports advanced features such as exporting transactions, setting UTXO preferences for Bitcoin, and interacting with third-party dApps through Web3 integrations for Ethereum and EVM-compatible chains. Use these features only when you understand the implications and always confirm actions on your device.
Security best practices
- Keep your recovery seed offline: write it on the card provided, store copies securely offsite if needed, and never photograph or type it digitally.
- Use a strong PIN: choose a PIN you can remember but others cannot guess.
- Verify addresses on-device: always confirm the address you send to or receive from on the physical Trezor screen.
- Update firmware & Suite: keep both Trezor firmware and Trezor Suite up to date to benefit from security patches.
- Beware phishing: always verify the URL before downloading Suite or using web integrations; use bookmarks to access official pages.
Troubleshooting common issues
Device not detected
Check the USB cable, try a different port, ensure your OS permits USB device access, and confirm Trezor Suite is allowed by your firewall or security settings.
Sync or transaction history missing
Network indexers may sometimes lag; try refreshing the account view, checking the blockchain explorer for transaction status, or reinstalling Suite if the problem persists.
